No more gatekeeping in triathlon.

race.fit is built by a group of triathletes, coaches, and doctors working to make elite training tools available to everyone, not just the athletes with $400-a-month coaches and a network of sports scientists on speed dial.

The sport has always had a two-tier structure. Pros and well-resourced age-groupers get personalized coaching, physiological testing, race-course briefs, and real-time adjustments. Everyone else follows a generic 16-week PDF and hopes for the best. We think that's absurd. The tools that actually make people faster (sport-aware TSS, individualized zones, adaptive periodization, race-week intelligence) aren't expensive to compute. They are expensive to deliver, because delivering them has historically required a human coach.

An AI coach changes that math. The plan can be as personal as what a good human coach would write. It can adapt every day based on what you actually did, not what you were supposed to do. It can text you a brief before every session and ask about your legs after every upload. And it costs a small fraction of what a human coach costs, because the marginal cost of another athlete is essentially zero.

Who we are

The team is a mix of people who have raced these distances, coached athletes to podiums, and worked on human physiology professionally. We're not building this because AI is trendy. We're building it because we've all sat with an athlete looking at their PMC chart and known exactly what they need, and we've all watched other athletes flounder without access to that same thinking.

Every design decision runs through one question: would we prescribe this to a real athlete we cared about? If the answer is no, it doesn't ship. The AI coach uses the same training principles we use ourselves. The math behind the plan is the same math a good coach uses. The only difference is price and availability.

What we're building

An AI training coach that:

  • Builds a real periodized plan around your target race, not a template with your name on it.
  • Syncs with Strava, reads every workout, and understands what you actually did. Compressed intervals, cooked easy days, heat-affected HR.
  • Adapts the calendar based on your actual training. Miss a session, blow past target intensity, skip a week for travel, and the plan responds.
  • Texts you like a coach would. Before every workout, after every activity, and when you ask questions.
  • Understands the race itself. Course profile, elevation, weather history, pacing considerations, researched before race week.

What we're not

We are not a Strava replacement. We are not a training log. We are not a plan library. There are excellent products that do those things and we integrate with the ones we can.

We are also not trying to replace human coaches. If you have the resources to work with a great human coach, do that. What we are trying to replace is bad coaching: the generic PDF, the one-size-fits-all interval library, the "follow this plan and don't think" model that most amateur athletes have historically had to choose from.

Where we're going

We're in private beta with a small group of founding athletes right now. The product gets better every week because we read every athlete conversation and turn the problems we see into fixes. If you want in, join the waitlist.

If you're a coach or a physician working with endurance athletes and want to help shape what we build, email us at [email protected]. We answer.
